The KCMO Health Department had already purchased DC fast chargers for a workplace charging application before design questions were answered. EVre was brought in to advise — in support of the electrical contractor — on what the site and the use case actually needed.

What EVre did

  • Site assessment first: evaluated the campus’s electrical capacity, parking, and the workplace-charging duty cycle against the purchased equipment
  • Advised the customer and contractor on a right-sized configuration — 14 dual-port Level 2 stations serving 28 ports for staff and fleet, matched to how vehicles actually dwell at the site
  • Engineering & design services through sealed issue-for-permit and construction drawings, hardwired Cat6 networking design, and RFID access control

Why it matters for your project

Equipment bought before engineering is one of the most common — and most expensive — mistakes in EV charging. This project shows the fix: an honest assessment, a PE who will tell you what the site actually needs, and drawings a contractor can build from without change orders.
