Under a lease agreement signed in August 2026 with The Curators of the University of Missouri, EVre is building a DC fast charging hub on the University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Health Sciences Campus — at zero cost to the university. EVre funds, engineers, builds, owns, and operates the hub; UMKC provides the parking stalls and receives a quarterly share of charging revenue.

It is EVre’s flagship institutional program and the working template for our EVre-funded model: professional charging infrastructure delivered as a campus amenity, with no capital outlay and no operating risk for the host.

The Hospital Hill Charging Hub

UMKC’s Health Sciences Campus anchors the university’s professional programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing, inside Kansas City’s core medical district alongside University Health and Children’s Mercy. Traffic is year-round and mixed — students, faculty, clinicians, patients, and visitors — with the shorter dwell times that make fast charging the right tool for the site.

The hub brings two dual-port DC fast chargers to a surface lot on the campus, each carrying both NACS (Tesla) and CCS1 connectors so no driver needs an adapter. A typical 20–80% charge takes about 30 minutes. Additional campus locations can follow in later phases, guided by real utilization data from the hub.

What EVre delivers

  • Site assessment and load screening — capacity checks and utility service options on the candidate lots, so the hub is built where the numbers work
  • PE-stamped engineering — EVre’s Missouri Professional Engineer is the engineer of record: sealed drawings, load calculations, and one-line diagrams that meet University of Missouri design standards and Kansas City permitting
  • Utility coordination with Evergy — a new separately metered service in EVre’s name, transformer coordination, EV rate election, and rebate pre-approval
  • Procurement and construction management — DC fast charging equipment and licensed electrical contractors under EVre management, including pads, conduit, parking repairs, striping, and signage
  • Ownership and 24/7 operation — EVre owns the equipment, pays the electric bills, monitors every port, and dispatches service; UMKC gets the amenity and the revenue share

Why it matters for your campus

Universities, school districts, hospital systems, and municipalities all face the same math: charging is expected by the people they serve, but a capital request for chargers competes with every other priority. The UMKC program shows the alternative — a PE-licensed owner-operator that engineers the site, funds the build, and runs the equipment, in exchange for the parking stalls and a share of the revenue.
