Canton is a Mississippi River college town in the northeast corner of Missouri, and our 75kW Tritium DC fast charger waits in the southeast corner of the Ayerco #32 lot at 1700 Oak Street — the Route 16 junction on the business loop, a minute off US-61. Two cables, one NACS and one CCS1, serve two cars at once; the rate is $0.42 per kWh with a $0.99 start fee, paid by card at the cabinet or in the Noodoe app.

On the Great River Road

Route 16 ends here at the river, where it meets the Business 61 loop and Route B, the Great River Road scenic byway that follows the Mississippi. Southbound, Hannibal and the Mark Twain sights are a 38-mile, 45-minute drive; St. Louis is a 155-mile, 2-hour-50-minute run the same way, with our Bowling Green stop roughly a 70-mile leg south as a second charge. Westbound on Route 16 toward US-63, our Kirksville location and Truman State University are a little over an hour away.

Range math for the river run

For a car rated around 250 miles, a charge to 80% here — roughly 200 miles of usable range — reaches St. Louis with margin, and Hannibal and back is under 80 miles round trip, so the Mark Twain loop needs no second stop at all. Northbound, it is the sensible top-up for anyone continuing up US-61 into southeast Iowa, since public fast charging thins out beyond the state line.

Around the plug

Number 32 never closes; inside are restrooms, coffee, and Hot Stuff Pizza and sandwiches. A Steak ‘n Shake sits directly across the lot at 1702 (10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily), and the Saints Avenue Cafe, a home-style buffet, is at 1703. Culver-Stockton College, founded in 1853, crowns the hill above downtown, and the riverfront at Lock and Dam No. 20 — towboats locking through on the Upper Mississippi — is across town; either is easy to see in the half hour a 20–80% session takes. Farther afield, Wakonda State Park (six lakes, 87 campsites, just over seven miles of trail) is a 14-mile hop south beside La Grange, and the Mark Twain Casino sits on Pierce Street in La Grange, a 13-mile drive from the plug.

Ayerco (Ayers Oil Company) has been a northeast Missouri family business since W.H. Ayers founded it in 1924; today it runs sixteen convenience stores across eight counties, and we put fast charging at three of them. EVre owns and monitors this location day and night.
