Kirksville is the college town of northeast Missouri — Truman State University and A.T. Still University both call it home — and our 75kW Tritium DC fast charger is on the main commercial strip at Ayerco #29, 2214 North Baltimore Street. Baltimore is Business 63, the old highway through town; mainline US-63 now bypasses to the east, so follow Business 63 in from either end. The charger carries a NACS cable and a CCS1 cable, serves two vehicles at once, and takes card payment on the screen or the Noodoe app. Charging costs $0.42 per kWh, and $0.99 to start.

The turnaround point on US-63

It is a 92-mile drive (an hour and 40 minutes) north from Columbia on US-63, and the far end of most day trips from either metro: roughly 3½ hours from Kansas City (a 165-mile trip) and 3¾ hours from St. Louis (206). That distance is exactly why DC fast charging here matters — it is the turnaround that makes a Truman visit, a move-in weekend, or a run to the Iowa line workable in an EV. Eastbound on Highway 16 toward the Mississippi, our Canton location is a little over an hour away; Bowling Green covers the US-54 and US-61 route back toward St. Louis.

Two universities and a rail stop

A.T. Still University is the founding school of osteopathic medicine, established here in 1892, and its campus, clinics, and Museum of Osteopathic Medicine bring a steady flow of students, residents, patients, and visitors into a city of roughly 17,000. Truman State University, the state’s public liberal arts university, is across town, and the Adair County courthouse square anchors a walkable downtown between them. The nearest passenger rail is La Plata, about 12 miles south, where Amtrak’s Southwest Chief stops between Chicago and Kansas City — a common reason for a Kirksville pickup run that ends with a charge on the way back.

Half an hour on North Baltimore

Number 29 runs day and night, with Deli Express sandwiches, Ronnoco coffee, and an ATM inside. The same stretch of road is the local restaurant row: McDonald’s (2210), Subway (2206), and Burger King (2211) are next door, Wendy’s is a block up at 2321, and Bellacino’s Pizza & Grinders is on the way downtown. With more time, Thousand Hills State Park is a couple of miles west, wrapped around 573-acre Forest Lake with about 14 miles of hiking and mountain-bike trail, and the Truman campus is a mile or two south.

Ayerco is a family-owned northeast Missouri chain, founded in 1924 and now sixteen stores strong; this is the northernmost of the three sites where we operate. The charger is EVre-owned and remotely monitored.
